Well, I just heard the sad news that Joe Gibbs is retiring as Head Coach and General Manager of the Washington Redskins. I can’t say I’m shocked. I was looking forward to seeing what progress he could continue to make next year. I think Greg Williams has to have the inside line to replace Gibbs. Aside from his experience, both in the NFL (head coach) and with the team (holds the defense together), he gets $1M bonus if he’s not chosen to replace Gibbs when he leaves. It's in his contract. I've heard Bill Cowher's name being bandied about, but I'll be surprised if Williams isn't the Man. Farewell, Joe. You will always be remembered as the greatest coach in the history of the Skins.
